I was really hopeful for these games, but I was just a little disappointed. It looks incredible, but compared to TT Superbikes for the PS2, the physics just don't come close, which says a lot about a PS2 game. In TT Superbikes, you can get a tank slapper by landing on the back wheel wrong over a crest. The modern games feel a little too glued to the road, sort of breaking the immersion for me.

Having played this game it blows my mind how impressive this lap is it’s so hard to master. The men and women who race this for real are titans every single one of them.

IF YOUR GAME CRASHES ON START OF A RACE,TRY THIS! Windows has will close programs that use alot of resources or limit it (in my case,has done this with rbr by limiting to 30 FPS on some cars and grand prix legends crashing trying to spawn the car in).THE FIX:simply head to windows DEP (Data Execution Prevention),rather than telling you how to do so simply LOOK IT UP or ask Chat GPT for instructions on how to do so (certainly if you get stuck/don't understand how to get to it). This has worked for me in solving the issue,I'm posting this comment because I could not find ANYWHERE suggesting to do this for this issue and only thought of DEP as I saw on forum for richard burns 30 FPS lock. I hope this fixes your issue with the game 😀

This idea is what I think modern cars should be, perhaps give this some slicks and a bit more power and some safety devices and we've got an incredible race car.

I've played TT1 , TT2 and TT3 . And i still haven't completed a single lap without at least 1 prang . This lap takes real skill , kudos to you .

Wish they would redo GPL or let a team come in and update it for Steam. My Husband still has the disk and loved it with the Act Labs wheel shifter setup.

You absolutely nailed it.... modern day racing sims have been ignoring open-wheel oval racing. Some of the oldest and fondest memories are of oval racing in Indycar Racing 2.

Such a great channel. GPLaps single-handedly got me into vintage sim-racing. I think the video that first truly caught my attention and made me look into and download mods for AC of vintage cars was the 1927 French Grand Prix video. Ever since then I'd say 70% of my mods in AC and other sims consist of vintage cars and tracks. Even in other racing games i find myself looking at and driving the oldest car i can find

its kinda funny how the greatest version of GTL, is to be found in GTR2. and what makes PG so great is the tyres. GTL had awful tyre modelling.
